When I first started looking online to see what people really know about Vehicle Service Contracts, I expected to find answers everywhere.
Instead… I found a lot of fluff.
Most articles give you the basics. “Check the coverage.” “Ask about deductibles.” “Make sure the company is reputable.” That’s fine—but it’s kind of like buying a house and only being told where the front door is.
The truth is, the most important parts of a service contract are the things you usually don’t discover until something goes wrong. And by then, it’s too late to fix them.
That’s where That Coverage Guy comes in.
I go beyond the brochure and dig into the details that actually affect your wallet:
- Labor rates – Your repair shop might charge more per hour than your contract is willing to pay. That difference comes out of your pocket.
- Rental coverage – “Rental included” sounds great… until you realize it only covers part of the cost, and only for a few days.
- Deductibles – Some are per visit, some are per repair, and some apply more often than you think.
Then there are the details almost no one explains up front.
For example, if your vehicle is titled in your business name but the “commercial use” box isn’t checked, that service contract could be completely invalid. The same can happen with lift kits, oversized tires, or salvage titles if they’re not disclosed correctly.
None of this means service contracts are bad. In fact, when they’re set up correctly, they can be incredibly valuable.
The real problem is that most people don’t get clear, honest explanations before they buy. That’s what TCG is for.
I break down service contracts in plain English, point out the things to double-check, and help you understand what you’re actually buying—so there are no surprises later.
It might not sound exciting… but it can save you thousands of dollars.
Stick around.
That Coverage Guy has your back.
